Cumin Seeds

Cumin (Cuminum cyminum) is the dried, white fruit/seed with greyish brown colour of a small slender annual herb. In Hindi it is known as Jeera or Jira. The aromatic seed like fruit is mildly bitter and has a warm flavour. It is used as a condiment, and is an ingredient in curry powders, seasonings of breads, cakes and cheese. Cumin seed oil is used in perfumery and for flavouring liqueurs and cordials.
